Logan Halstead and Willy Tea Taylor

Logan 423451701851898

LOGAN HALSTEAD  Logan doesn’t like to put himself in a box sonically or stylistically. Still, many would characterize his work as Appalachian/Americana music. Above all, his songs are raw and honest, and the writing is wrapped in wisdom one might only think could be conjured by someone two decades older. While the masses clamored for more content, Logan took his time and found the right partners for his debut album. He decided to cut his project at the famous Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. He was accompanied in production by the one and only Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Margo Price, Angel Olson, and many more). When asked about the recording process, Logan said, “It was a great experience. Lawrence is top-notch. They made me feel comfortable just to go in and do what I do, and to get to record in a place like that is a dream come true, especially for a holler kid.” Rothman, who also saw success at a very young age, was a perfect fit because they understood Logan’s position and angst which allowed Logan to express himself freely. In 2020, Logan released “Dark Black Coal” on YouTube, which has since amassed almost 6 million views. The success of that single has allowed Logan to build a great fan base through YouTube, touring, and opening for artists like Zach Bryan, Charles Wesley Godwin, Town Mountain, and many more. With the record releasing over a year after he recorded the album, Our Vinyl came into his life at the perfect time. In a collaboration with Our Vinyl, Logan released a taste of his upcoming project with a four-song EP that has amassed him over 120,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. With the success of “Dark Black Coal,” it’s no surprise that Logan chose this as the title track for his first album. Logan signed with Thirty Tigers and is excited to partner with them on his release. The release date is slated for May 5, 2023 and he will be touring those songs beginning in May. Expect to see Logan’s name on festival billings, support tours, and in a town near you. “I want my music to keep evolving and to improve my craft. I want to be the best I can be and give my fans shows to remember,” says Logan. Like all musicians, he hopes to achieve a successful career, but don’t expect Logan Halstead to change who he is or what he believes in to succeed. Authentically himself, Logan strives to always be honest and true to his fans.WILLY TEA TAYLORWilly Tea Taylor, the son of a cattleman, was born and raised in the “Cowboy Capital of the World”, Oakdale, California. In the past year or so, after thousands of miles driven and countless songs written and played, he has suddenly and rightfully found himself standing shoulder to shoulder in the ranks of today’s great Alt-Country musicians. From his early days co-fronting The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, to singing solo in countless cowboy bars, Willy Tea has never lost the vision of what he knew could be. And now with The Fellership or solo, Willy Tea Taylor, he has taken his version of that hero hang on the road.

The Pink Stones with Colin Cutler And Hot Pepper Jam + She Returns From War

The 423371712063284

“This record was me trying to take everything I love as a listener  and a player and shove it all into one thing without it sounding random, ”says Hunter Pinkston, former punk turned cosmic country auteur, describing ‘You Know Who’, the boisterous, ambitious sophomore album by his band The Pink Stones. Ostensibly they play country music, yet all the pedal steel  sobs, the two-steppin’ rhythms, twangy harmonies, and lyrics about broken hearts and long days on the road are launch pads for wild experiments and unexpected stylistic forays. “There’s obviously a lot of country and rock in our music, but there’s a lot of gospel and soul and psych and dub. I really wanted to get all of those things living peacefully together in one record.”**A Greensboro, North Carolina-based songwriter toting a guitar, banjo, and harmonicas, Colin Cutler’s music spans the breadth of Americana, from oldtime to blues to roots rock, with lyrics informed by the earthy storytelling traditions of the South, his Pentecostal upbringing, and literature. **Hailing from the historically rich city of Charleston, South Carolina, americana music artist Hunter Park is defining what it means to not only live in the modern south, but to be a trans woman and artist within this landscape. Combining folk-infused vocal melodies and evocative lyrics that capture the unfiltered human experience, She Returns From War is taking her seat in the Americana music world with grace, strength, and passion. The project shows no signs of slowing down. From opening for Bernie Sanders at his presidential rally in Charleston, to performing at national festivals like Stagecoach and High Water Festival and with artists such as Pat Benatar, Band of Horses, and Nikki Lane, She Returns From War is sharing with the world what the modern south should look and feel like: inclusive, compassionate, unfiltered, and loving.

Every new musician to leave their touch on the Awen Family songbook offers a new perspective to the music and what they hear in the songs, making every Awen Family show an opportunity to hear the songs presented in a new light as well as new songs that form around certain groups of musicians. An Evening With Josh Morningstar

An 423231703000220

A curious and fresh combination of grit and humor, Josh Morningstar is knocking down stereotypes everywhere he goes with his worn boots and unforgettable raspy voice. Growing up outside of Baltimore, Maryland, he carries those roots in a suitcase with him everywhere he goes. His small-town charm is evident in the way he greets people, and in the conversational way that he weaves the stories of his life into his music.
Named 2018 Texas Radio Songwriter of the Year, he and his Kristofferson signed guitar have knocked out melodies in dark clubs and dingy hotels all across the country. He’s written songs alongside Kendell Marvel, Channing Wilson, Autumn McEntire, and many more. Morningstar was also the writer of several Cody Jinks songs, including his #1 hits “Must Be The Whiskey” and “Ain’t A Train.”
His lyrics force listeners to sit up and pay attention, and his songs are always full of truth-bearing stories. The familial connection Morningstar forges with people continues long after his shows are over. Josh Morningstar has shared the stage with some of today’s most sought after folk and country artists, including Shooter Jennings, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, Todd Snider, Colter Wall, and Ward Davis. Morningstar continues to lead the charge on the front lines of a new wave of country music – one full of soulful honesty, the familiar and true twang of an old guitar, and provoking melodies.

Will Overman w/ Justin Wells

Will 423091705665408

Justin Wells first came to national attention with cult favorite Southern rock band Fifth on the Floor, which released a pair of well-received independent records before teaming up with Shooter Jennings on their breakout third album, 2013’s Ashes & Angels. The record debuted on the Billboard Country charts, earned critical raves, and helped land the band dates with the likes of Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, and Blackberry Smoke. The album would prove to be the band’s last, however. With the rug suddenly pulled out from under him, Wells decided to write his way through the disappointment, emerging stronger and more creatively invigorated on the other side with his solo debut, Dawn in the Distance. The record (and its subsequent touring) prompted the best reviews of Wells’ career, with Rolling Stone hailing his “gift for melody” and Saving Country Music praising his “stunning insight and honesty.”  With his extraordinary second album, The United State, Kentucky’s Justin Wells explored our innate humanity and everything that comes with it: the joy, the sorrow, the ecstasy, the pain, the hope, the fear. Recorded with acclaimed producer Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Sturgill Simpson’s Sunday Valley, Joe Pug), the collection starts in the womb and works its way methodically to the afterlife, transcending politics and race and religion to tap into something far deeper, something infinitely more primal and timeless. While thematically speaking to commonalities in people’s lives, The United State underlines Wells’ commitment to carving his own path, tradition and genre be damned.  w/ Will Overman:Will Overman’s music can be best described as a combination of Rock, Country, and Americana, but it’s not your typical Country-Americana sound. Sonically it is restless by nature, always searching for something new, and with Will’s heart-worn lyrics and dynamic vocal delivery, it makes for a memorable mixture that is hard to place but easy to love.
