Charly Lowry (Lumbee/Tuscarora) is an Indigenous singer-songwriter, musician, and artivist whose music lives at the crossroads of Americana, soul, roots rock, and blues. Originally from Robeson County, North Carolina, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, her work is rooted in storytelling, cultural resilience, and the enduring connection between home, heritage, and the journeys that shape us.
A Season 3 American Idol Top 32 finalist, Lowry has performed at some of the nation’s most respected stages, including Carnegie Hall, the Grand Ole Opry, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, the Library of Congress, and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. She has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Rhiannon Giddens, Pura Fé, and Rissi Palmer, and serves as a Governor of the Nashville Chapter of the Recording Academy.
Her debut Nashville single, “Purty Dress (Pretty Dress),” marks the beginning of a new creative chapter, reflecting both her artistic evolution and the journey that brought her from Robeson County, North Carolina, to Music City. Inspired by that journey, Lowry is also documenting life as an independent artist through the forthcoming visual series, Nashville Bound. Whether performing with guitar, Native hand drum, or with a full band, she creates performances that are intimate, soulful, and cinematic, inviting audiences into songs of identity, resilience, and belonging.
