Lemon Sparks + Mad Crush *Early Show*

Saturday, February 15
Doors: 5pm // Show: 6pm
$15
Lemon Sparks an original pop-rock band from the Triangle area of NC. We are fans of classic songwriting with great melodies and catchy riffs.

Billboard Magazine calls Chapel Hill NC’s Mad Crush “a cross between June Carter-Johnny Cash and Ray Davies of The Kinks,” and that’s just about right. John Elderkin and Joanna Sattin sing to each other full of humor and hurt, and they are backed up by a hot indie band comprised of some of North Carolina’s most acclaimed bands — The Popes, Zen Frisbee, and The Veldt, to name a few. John Elderkin’s songs have been acclaimed by Robert Christgau of VICE, Jon Pareles of The NY Times, SPIN, Mike Watt, Americana Highways, AmericanaUK, PopMatters, REM producer Don Dixon, and more. The documentary film “The Ghost Behind,” about John’s band The Popes, played at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Band members: Laura Thomas, violin; Chuck Garrison, percussion; Henry Pharr, bass; Mark Whelan, electric guitar.
