NC FOLK FEST: TOO PHAT BRASS BAND

Too Phat Brass Band brings the high-energy spirit of New Orleans second line to the Carolinas, mixing funk, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop into a brass-driven celebration. A favorite of regional festivals and venues, Too Phat brings booming sousaphone, driving percussion, and fiery horn lines to their performances which turn any space into a Second Line Sunday. Formed by seasoned musicians from acclaimed institutions like UNCG’ Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program, NCA&T’s Blue and Gold Marching Machine, and the United States Navy Band, Too Phat delivers joy, groove, and community in every show proving that the second line tradition thrives well beyond Bourbon Street.
